Brupass & Brupass XL: the next intermodal tickets to Brussels

Let’s imagine that intermodality would be reflected in a pass, covering all your journeys around the city and its suburbs by train 🚉, tramway, metro or bus 🚌 ? And this at a single rate ! This is the new offer launched in the Belgian capital, following 20 years of discussions between the different Governments. Nicknamed the Brupass, this new ticket will be officially launched on February 1st. Zoom in on this ticket, which could make the use of gentler modes of transport more accessible.

52 train stations and more than 2,800 bus, tramways and metro stops

As of next February, each user will be able to use the STIB, De Lijn, TEC and SNCB rail transport networks at the same time, replacing the current JUMP and MTB tickets. All this with a single ticket Brupass. Until now limited to the Brussels-Capital Region, this new offer will cover no less than 19 municipalities and part of Flemish Brabant, within a perimeter of 11.5 kilometers. (see map below)

From 2.4 to 3€ per trip

Based on a well-defined price grid, two possibilities will be offered to the user. Indeed, the latter will be able to buy single tickets at 2.4€ for the Brupass and 3€ for the Brupass XL. Or opt for a monthly or annual subscription. The Brupass is available for 583€ per year and 775€ per year for the Brupass XL. Accessible via the different sales points, these products are added to the existing offers of the 4 operators.

According to estimates, “1.3 million car journeys could now be made by public transport, thus reducing the pressure of cars on Brussels and the surrounding area”. A new offer that is highly contribuate to reduce congestion and the number of cars in the Brussels capital.
